ETAG launches mentoring programme for Ukrainian participants to support Horizon Europe participation

06.08.2026

The Estonian Research Council (ETAG) is pleased to announce a call for applications for an online mentoring programme aimed at supporting Ukrainian researchers and administrative staff from Ukrainian higher education and research institutions who are involved in Horizon Europe proposal preparation and/or project implementation.

Unlike a traditional training course, the programme is based on mentoring and peer learning. While each session will focus on an agreed thematic area, the specific content will be shaped by the participants’ needs, questions and practical challenges. Mentors will share insights from their own experience in implementing Horizon Europe projects, facilitate discussion, and encourage the exchange of experiences among participants. The sessions are designed to provide practical guidance, reflection and problem-solving rather than comprehensive instruction on predefined topics. The programme also contributes to strengthening Ukraine’s integration into the European Research Area (ERA) and increasing its participation in Horizon Europe.

Applicants are expected to have prior experience in preparing and submitting Horizon Europe proposals or in implementing Horizon Europe projects. They should also have sufficient English language skills to actively participate in the mentoring sessions.

Applications are open until 6 September 2026. The online mentoring programme will run from October to December 2026 and is supported by ESTDEV – the Estonian Centre for International Development.

Further information and the application form are available on the ETAG website
