\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-el wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEnhancing the Capacity to Implement Research, Development, and Innovation Outcomes in Society and Establishing a&nbsp;Favourable&nbsp;Policy Environment\u201d (RITA+) 2023\u20132029 continues the efforts of the \u201cStrengthening Sectoral Research and Development\u201d (RITA) program from the 2014\u20132020 Structural Funds period.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading wp-el\" id=\"purpose-of-the-support\">Objectives of RITA+ funding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list wp-el\">\n<li>Increase the public sector\u2019s capacity in smart specialisation areas, to apply the results of research, development and innovation activities to policy making and to address existing and emerging societal challenges.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increase the role of the public sector in the strategic direction of R&amp;D activities in Estonia and support the development of R&amp;D directions that are important for the state.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve the competence of public sector personnel responsible for advising and shaping policies in the field of research and development, fostering both national and international collaboration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve the competence of development advisors of professional associations in the field of R&amp;D and to promote cooperation of development advisors within Estonia and internationally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading wp-el\" id=\"what-is-supported\">Actions funded and supported by RITA+<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sub-Activity 1<\/strong>: Interdisciplinary applied research in the fields of smart specialisation to address societal and economic challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sub-Activity 2<\/strong>: Analysis and monitoring of research and development, and innovation policies, as well as increasing the competence of policymakers and implementers in these fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sub-Activity 3<\/strong>: Increasing the competence and supporting to cooperation between science advisors of ministries and the Government Office or R&amp;D advisory staff and development advisors of professional associations, Also, enhancing the competence of ministry officials in research and development and innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Sub-Activity 4<\/strong>: Development of the Estonian Research Information System (ETIS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading wp-el\" id=\"grant-period-and-budget\">Eligibility period and budget<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el wp-block-paragraph\">The period of eligibility of activities is from 01.04.2023 to 31.08.2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el wp-block-paragraph\">The total budget allocated for RITA+ amounts to \u20ac19,126,486, with \u20ac13,388,540 funded by the European Regional Development Fund, \u20ac 2 651 502 from national co-financing and \u20ac 3 086 444 from the beneficiaries\u2019 own contribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading wp-el\" id=\"application-assessment\">Terms and conditions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el wp-block-paragraph\">The detailed terms for receiving support are outlined in the decree issued by the Minister of Education and Research.
