It is also a key pillar for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/cordis.europa.eu\/era\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Research Area (ERA)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-el wp-block-paragraph\">The broad objectives of FP7 have been grouped into four categories: Cooperation, Ideas, People and Capacities. For each type of objective, there is a specific programme corresponding to the main areas of EU research policy.
