The First Call for proposals on FutureFoodS partnership is now open

The first call of the Horizon Europe Partnership for a sustainable Future of Food Systems (FutureFoodS) on the topic „Transforming Food Systems – reshaping food system interactions, fostering food innovations and empowering sustainable food choices.” is now open.

This call is open to proposals addressing one of the R&I topics described below:

  • Topic 1: The way towards sustainable and resilient food systems
  • Topic 2: New foods – Fostering innovations in food design, processing and supply via demand-and-supply reorientation
  • Topic 3: Empowering sustainable food choices – Enabling environments and dietary shifts

Please note that primary production like growing food (including seafood), agricultural production and other specific aspects related to it, as well as nutrition- and lifestyle-related diseases are not in focus in this partnership.

Estonian participants are financed by the Estonian Research Council or the Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture by 100,000 euros if the applicant is a project partner or by Research Council by 300,000 euros if the applicant is a project coordinator.

All applicants must meet the requirements of the call and their national funding organization.

The call is conducted as a two-step-procedure:

  • Deadline for pre-proposal submission is 15 January 2025
  • Deadline for full proposal submission is 9 July 2025
  • Start of projects is between November 2025 and March 2026
