Europe’s biggest robotics competition, taking place in Estonia, is widening its scope this year by holding a space robotics conference that is open for everyone.
In addition to NASA, ESA and RoboRAVE International, Eerika Ilves is among the speakers. She is a representative and co-founder of a company that develops robots for mining in space.
“A lot of enterprise will take place in space in the future, and that is why it is time for everyone, businessmen and students alike, to find out what are the new technologies aimed for space today and in ten years. In relation to Estonia joining the European Space Agency (ESA), space has become an important topic here. For example, both the U.S. astronaut Douglas H. Wheelock and the Director General of the European Space Agency, Johann-Dietrich Wörner have visited Tallinn University of Technology this autumn,” says Mart Laul, Project Manager of Robotex 2016.
The space conference is a part of the Robotex 2016 programme. A total of 500 people are participating in the conference.
Robotex is held by Tallinn University of Technology.
