The French-Estonian science and technology cooperation program “G.F. PARROT ”organized the 10th application round in 2020.
A record number of applications were submitted in this application round – 20. There were 10 applications from researchers of University of Tartu, 9 from researchers of Tallinn University of Technology and 1 application from researchers of the Estonian University of Life Sciences. The applications were divided into the following areas: Natural Sciences and Technology 14, Environmental and Life Sciences 4, Social Sciences 1 and Humanities 1 application.
The researchers had to submit an identical application in English to both French and Estonian funding organizations. This ensured that experts from both countries evaluated exactly the same application. The applications were first evaluated by the national evaluation panels, each of which formed its own ranking. The Estonian Evaluation Committee was formed from the members of the expert committees of the Evaluation Council of the Estonian Research Council, the French Evaluation Committee from their local experts. The Estonian-French Joint Commission decided the funding based on the ranking.
This year, the cooperation program “G. F. PARROT ” Joint Committee decided to finance 9 Estonian-French co-operation projects over the next two years, one co-operation project is currently on the reserve list.
