Call for Applications: Postdoctoral Researcher Grant 2024

Estonian Research Council is pleased to announce that the application round for the Postdoctoral Grant 2024 is soon to be open, accepting submissions from February 13 to March 15.

This grant is tailored for researchers who aspire to further their research pursuits in Estonia and have secured a positive outcome in the Marie Skłodowska Curie (MSCA) postdoctoral fellowship grant application round but have yet to receive funding.

The primary aim with this grant is twofold: to foster the exchange and growth of talent while providing crucial support for researchers during the pivotal postdoctoral stage of their careers. Recognizing the value of both international expertise and the return of Estonian researchers from abroad, the aim is to enrich Estonia’s research landscape by leveraging diverse knowledge and experiences. By facilitating the integration of these talents into Estonia research ecosystem, the aim is to expand career opportunities for emerging researchers.

In the 2024 round, successful applicants can expect significant support amounting to 72,000 euros per year. Approximately 25 postdoctoral grants will be awarded, each with a support period ranging from a minimum of 12 months to a maximum of 24 months.

Applications must be submitted through the Estonian Research Information System ( To initiate the application process, individuals are required to create an ETIS user account through their respective host institutions. Once the application has been confirmed by the host institution, it will be deemed officially submitted.
