NordForsk call for the programme Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change

The programme for Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change is now issuing a call for proposals for research projects.

The call covers four thematic areas of the programme and all proposals must address two or more of the thematic areas:

  1. Plants adapted for future Nordic and Baltic conditions
  2. Increased local and regional protein production for food and feed
  3. Plants and soil as a carbon sink
  4. Transformation towards climate-smart and profitable local and regional agriculture

The Sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change Programme is a collaborative effort between the Research Council of Norway, the Academy of Finland, the Estonian Research Council, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, the Ministry of Industries and Innovation, Iceland, the Ministry of Rural Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, the Research Council of Lithuania, the Swedish Research Council for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning (FORMAS) and NordForsk.

The available budget is approx. 6 million euros and the call deadline is 19 May 2022.

Estonian partners will be funded by ETAG and the Ministry of Rural Affairs of the Republic of Estonia (MeM) up to 100 000 euros per project. ETAG National Eligibility Criteria for grant applications in calls for transnational research projects can be found HERE
