The call for research grant applications opens to researchers on 1 March

The call for research grant applications in 2020 is open to researchers from 1 March to 31 March. The applications can  be submitted via the Estonian Research Information System ETIS.

There are three categories of grants corresponding to different levels of research career:

  • A postdoctoral research grant is a grant aimed at supporting people with a doctoral degree from an Estonian university for gaining international research experience at research and development institutions or among highly qualified research groups abroad.
  • A start-up grant is a grant aimed at supporting the researchers with initial research experience to launch their independent research career at an Estonian R&D institution, to set up their research group, and to contribute to educating the next generation of researchers (incl. doctoralstudents).
  • A team grant is a grant aimed at supporting researchers in continuing their research career at an Estonian R&D institution, ensuring high-quality research, leading a strong research group, and educating the next generation of researchers (incl. doctoralstudents).

The regulations, guidelines, and other relevant information about the call is available  on the home page of the Estonian Research Council.

ETIS will be closed for applications at 17:00 (Estonian time) on 31 March. The initial financing proposals will be made in the beginning of November.
