EURAXESS Maritime Event: Discover the Baltic Sea
Autumn brings new discoveries! EURAXESS Estonia invites foreign researchers working at Estonian R&D institutions as well as their family members to visit all together the Seaplane Hangars and a very special exhibition in the Estonian History Museum entitled “Watertight sources – A medieval find from Tallinn Bay”. The event aims to introduce the past and present of Baltic Sea and life of people living on its shore.
The networking event will take place on the 3rd of November (Saturday) in Tallinn. Foreign researchers from all over Estonia—Tartu, Tallinn, and other cities—are welcome to join!
EURAXESS Estonia team arranges all practicalities as well as logistics for researchers from Tartu. Transportation from museum to museum will be arranged for all researchers.
In order to organise both excursions in a more efficient and smooth way, participants will be divided into two groups.
Programme of the event for group #1:
8:00 — Researchers from Tartu depart from the lower parking lot of Vanemuine Theatre
10:45 — Arrival at the Seaplane Harbour
11:00-13:00 — One-hour guided tour and free time in the Seaplane hangars
13:00-14:00 — Lunch for both groups in the Seaplane Harbour’s café-restaurant “Maru” (fish menu)
14:00 — Bus leaves from the Seaplane Harbour to Estonian History Museum
14:30-16:00 — Exploring “Watertight sources” exhibition with its curator Krista Sarv
16:15 — End of the event / Departure to Tartu

16:15 — End of the event / Departure to Tartu
Preliminary registration is required due to the limited number of places available. Registration will be open until the 24th of October or until all places will be filled.
Researchers are kindly ask to contribute a participation fee of 6 EUR/person. The fee includes all costs related to participation in the event (transport, food, museum entrance fees, etc). Participation for children under school age is free of charge. Fees to be transferred to the following bank account before the 24th of October:
