Estonian National Contest for University Students 2022 awaits participants

The Estonian Research Council invites students to submit research papers to the national contest. Deadline for submitting the applications is 15 September 2022.

The aim of the national contest for university students is to promote research among university students, to acknowledge students who have achieved outstanding results with their thesis, study, research or scientific publication.

The contest is open for all students studying in Estonia (including foreign students studying in Estonia) and Estonian citizens studying abroad. Research papers can be submitted on all university levels: applied higher education and undergraduate (bachelor’s) studies; master’s studies; doctoral studies and in all fields of research. We accept papers from all fields of research: natural sciences, engineering and technology,  medical and health sciences, agricultural sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities – and we encourage all students to apply!

The award fund is 98 677,79 EUR in total. Three national awards are given out on each level (plus two main prizes across fields and levels). Additionally, special prizes are issued by the President of the Estonian Academy of Sciences and the State Law Endowment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Social Affairs, Chancellery of the Parliament (Riigikogu), National Heritage Board, Captain Uno Laur Maritime Cultural Foundation and Estonian Family Foundation. For the first time, special prizes will also be given out by Ministry of Financial Affairs, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Justice.

We accept papers in both Estonian and other languages, but in the latter case, you must also submit a summary in Estonian. 

The Estonian Research Council is organizing the contest for student research in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Research 21st time this year.
