Horizon Europe Partnership Water4All Second Call “Aquatic Ecosystem Services” Is Open

Horizon Europe partnership Water4All opened the second transnational call on the topic of aquatic ecosystem services.

Applicants are required to address at least one of the following topics:

  1. Mapping, Monitoring, and Assessment for a Better Understanding of Ecosystem Services in a Context of Changes, from Local to Global Change.
  2. Understanding and Predicting Multiple Pressures (Including Anthropogenic Pressures) – Impact-Response Relationships in Ecosystem Services Through Advanced Methods and Techniques.
  3. New Tools and Solutions for a Better Integration of Ecosystem Services into the Management of Water Resources.

This Water4All call has three subprogrammes:

  1. Early Career Researchers
  2. Knowledge Hub
  3. Joint Transnational Call

NB! Estonian participants can request funding only for the third subprogramme (Joint Transnational Call). In the other two subprogrammes, Estonian partners can participate with own financing.

The application procedure will be similar to Horizon 2020 ERA-NET calls. The Estonian partners are funded by the Estonian Research Council (ETAG). The amount per Estonian project is max 150,000 euros (even if multiple Estonian partners are on the same project).

The call is conducted as two-step-procedure:

  1. The deadline for pre-proposal is 13 November 2023 at 15:00 Brussels time.
  2. The deadline for full proposal submission is 29 April 2024 at 15:00 Brussels time.

Submitting the pre-proposal is mandatory and full proposal cannot be submitted without it. Correctly submitted and evaluated pre-proposals will be invited to submit a full proposal by the secretariat.

ETAG funds both basic and applied science projects. All partners must meet the requirements of their national funding organization.
