Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership’s First Joint Transnational Call Is Open

The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership under the Horizon Europe, has opened the first Joint transnational call „The way forward: a thriving sustainable blue economy for a brighter future“ on 13 February.

The first call aims to reinforce the European blue economy through innovative solutions and improved resilience of marine ecosystems. Projects must be developed at a pan-European level and in the different European sea basins: the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, the Baltic Sea, the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.

Estonian participants are financed by ETAG and the Ministry of the Environment in the amount of 100,000 euros (project partner) or 150,000 euros (coordinator), and the Ministry of Rural Affairs 100,000 euros per project.

Full proposal submission deadline: 13/09/2023, 15:00 CET (Brussels Time)

 Estonian participants can request funding for three subtopics:

(3) Climate-neutral, environmentally sustainable, and resource-efficient blue food and feed
(4) Green transition of Blue Food production
(5) Ocean Digital Twin (ODT) test use cases at EU sea-basins and the Atlantic Ocean

In the first two subtopics, Estonian partneres can only participate with own financing:

(1) Planning and managing sea-uses at the regional level
(2) Development of offshore marine multi-use infrastructures to support the blue economy

The Estonian Research Coincil finances all types of institutions. Private-for-profit institutions must contact the ETAG consultant (Katrin Saar, katrin.saar@etag.ee) before submitting the application.
