229 personal research funding applications were submitted at the call that closed last week.
Personal research funding is a contribution to the costs of high-level research and development activities carried out by researchers or small research groups who are employed by a research and development institution
Support is offered to experienced researchers to carry out innovative, ground-breaking, or high-risk research projects as well as to young researchers s to develop an independent research career and establish their own research team
The total budget of the submitted applications is 15.8 million Euros. The budget available is approximately 1.4 million Euros. 163 exploratory research grant applications were submitted with the total budget applied for 11.4 million Euros. 66 applictions were submitted for start-up grants with 4.4 million Euros applied for.
Currently, the Estonian Research Council is performing the technical check of the submitted applications. Thereafter the applications will be reviewed by external reviewers. The final funding decision will be made in January 2014.
