The call for the Centres of Excellence applications opens on May 23

The Centre of Excellence is a scientific consortium which aims to develop the cooperation and joint activities of exceptionally high-level Estonian research groups. The Centre of Excellence focusses on solving high-risk, high-reward research questions based on the needs of Estonia.

The support period is seven years with a total budget of seven million euros per Centre of Excellence per support period. The total call amount is 49 million euros. The conditions and procedure for naming and financing the Centre of Excellence are stipulated by regulation No. 13 (2023) of the Minister of Education and Research.

The call opens on May 23: by June 30 the applicant must submit a statement to ETAG I order to begin the procedure; the deadline for applying is September 15, 2023. Applications are to be submitted through ETIS (Estonian Research System).
