Under the Pillar 2 of Horizon Europe, Cluster 2 “Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society” focuses on challenges pertaining to Democracy and Governance, European Cultural Heritage and the Cultural and Creative Industries, and Social and Economic Transformations.

The Cluster aims to contribute to all policy priorities of the Commission: the new push to European democracy, an economy that works for people, the European Green Deal, making Europe fit for the digital age, promoting our European way of life and making Europe stronger in the world. It also addresses issues relevant to the twin Green and Digital transitions and the post-COVID 19 recovery.

Horizon Europe participation opportunities for Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities beyond Cluster 2

Horizon Europe aims at fully integrating Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) in each of its pillars. In particular, under the pillar ‘Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness’, SSH should be fully integrated across all clusters. SSH is therefore a cross-cutting issue and integrated in the whole Framework Programme. While SSH research aspects are particularly present in Cluster 2, they are also present in all other clusters and in other parts of Horizon Europe.

Net4Society has published a new edition of opportunities for the Social Sciences and Humanities in Horizon Europe, i.e.updates to the 2024 Work Programmes in all thematic clusters. Researchers can now find out where they can actively take part in projects scheduled to start in 2025. The document is designed to help potential proposers find topics of interest where their respective research discipline is sought. The overview mainly covers Horizon Europe Pillar 2, Missions and WIDERA’s 2024 work programme and Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) calls in 2024 and 2025. The call deadlines in Pillar 2, Missions and WIDERA are between September 2024 and January 2025, MSCA deadlines are between September 2024 and November 2025.
