The TeadusEST science forum is an annual information and discussion event aimed at researchers, providing an overview of key developments in Estonia’s research landscape and offering a platform to discuss current issues.
Each year, the forum is structured around a specific thematic focus that reflects emerging challenges or important questions in the research field. In previous years, topics have included research funding, evaluation practices, research infrastructure, and the societal impact of science. The 2025 forum focused on the role of Estonia’s research centres of excellence, their societal value and impact, and opportunities for advancing scientific excellence.
The goal of TeadusEST is to provide an overview of the latest developments in Estonian research and research governance, while promoting open dialogue on science policy, research funding, top-level research, and the societal impact of science.
The forum is aimed at a broad audience, including researchers, leaders of research and development institutions, research administrators, science advisers from ministries, and other stakeholders interested in science. It provides space both for informative presentations and for in-depth discussions that analyse the current state of research, address important trends, and raise forward-looking questions.
