Science Education

Science education fosters students’ curiosity about the world and develops evidence-based thinking. Through the research process, students gain an understanding of the nature of science and develop scientific knowledge as well as science process skills, enabling them to assess the impact of scientific and technological developments. This prepares students to participate in informed public discussions on related issues and supports their development as lifelong learners in the fields of science and technology.

Within this initiative, we support the creation of diverse opportunities for students to deepen and sustain their interest in STEM. We organise various events and seminars for research supervisors and mentors of student inventors, as well as the annual Student Science Festival for students engaged in research projects and those participating in science-focused extracurricular education, together with their teachers and mentors. The aim of the Student Science Festival is to provide opportunities for exchanging experiences and to strengthen young people’s confidence in addressing their research questions.

By science-focused extracurricular education, we primarily refer to activities in the fields of natural sciences, exact sciences, and technology. This includes structured, long-term, and guided learning outside formal education, undertaken voluntarily and aimed at fostering interest in the field or developing advanced knowledge and skills in a chosen area.

Within the framework of the TeaMe 3.0 programme, we provide support for instructors of inquiry-based learning. We organise seminars for research coordinators to enhance technological literacy and creativity and to share best practices. We have also developed supporting materials that teachers can use in their lessons.

In addition, we co-organise science education conferences.
