The Representation of the Estonian Research Council in Brussels began its activities in 2012 and is part of the International Research Cooperation Department of the Estonian Research Council. The representation’s activities are funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the activity “Ensuring the Continuous Functioning of the Research System, Mobilitas 3.0.”
The aim of the representation is to support and promote the international cooperation of Estonian R&I and to introduce Estonian research achievements at the European level.

Activities of the Representation
- Presenting Estonian research and innovation activities in Brussels.
- Facilitating information exchange between Estonian research and development institutions and EU institutions, networks. Establishing contacts, and facilitating and disseminating cooperation opportunities.
- Participation in initiatives and activities of international networks (IGLO, Science Europe, network of representatives of Nordic and Baltic research and innovation agencies).
- Organizing seminars, partnership events, and meetings at the permanent representation of Estonia to the EU in Brussels.
- Advising ministries, research and development institutions, and other interested parties on opportunities for international researchcooperation.
- Offering internship opportunities to employees of Estonian universities and other R&I institutions, research-based companies, NGOs, ministries and their agencies.
