Events in 2026

• On 26–27 January, a Twinning project writing camp was held in Brussels in cooperation with the University of Tartu, Stockholm University, and La Rochelle University.
• On 10 February, an IGLO Open seminar took place on the topic: “Science Diplomacy and Security at the Intersection of Knowledge, Power and Values.”
• On 10 February, the fourth seminar in the “Science Inspiration Evening” series was held on the topic: “Science in the Service of Estonia’s Freedom and Security.”

Events in 2025

• On 25 March, an event titled “Cleantech 4 Defense and Security” was held in cooperation with the Lithuanian Research Council (LINO) and Cleantech for Baltics.
• On 25 March, a Science Inspiration Evening took place at the Permanent Representation of Estonia to the EU on the topic “Science, Freedom and Democracy.”
• On 13 May, a seminar titled “New Modalities in Neurodegenerative Disease Management – Is Europe Ready to Innovate?” was held in cooperation with ScanBalt and Eli Lilly and Company.
• On 14 May, the Embassy of Estonia in Washington, in cooperation with the Brussels Office of the Estonian Research Council, organised the seminar “Estonian Scientific Diaspora in the US.”
• On 19–21 May, the rectorate of the Estonian Academy of Security Sciences visited the Brussels Office of the Estonian Research Council.
• On 3 June, an AIRE Club event was held in Brussels on the topic “Shaping the Future of AI in Europe.”
• On 4 June, an IGLO Open event took place on the topic “Designing the Future: How Europe Can Lead with Responsible AI.”
• On 18 September, an expert roundtable was held in cooperation with the Rural Knowledge Centre and the Brussels Office of the Lithuanian Research Council (LINO) on the topic “Adapting to Climate Change: Science, Policy and Practice in Dialogue.”
• On 23 September, the Brussels Office anniversary event “Research in Style” took place. The event highlighted sustainability and a scientific approach in the fashion industry, featuring Professor Reet Aus’s UPMADE® collection.
• On 30 September, the exhibition “Exciting Minds: Estonian Research Excellence Showcase: ERC Grants Across the Years” was opened at the TalTech library.
• On 14 October, a conference titled “Northern Prospects – Enhancing Civil Security with AI” was organised in cooperation with representatives of Nordic-Baltic research and innovation agencies.
• On 5 November, a seminar on EU–India cooperation was held in collaboration with the European Commission’s Global Approach working group.
• On 18–19 November, a delegation from the Tallinn University School of Educational Sciences visited Brussels, along with the final seminar of the FEWL project.
• On 10 December, the third seminar in the “Science Inspiration Evening” series took place on the topic: “Making Sense of the World Through Art and Science.”
